EQUILIBRIUM
APRIL 22
Equilibrium explores the concepts of scientific experimentation and self-care in an abstract form. This is executed using the ‘Algal’ colour palette from the Viewpoint Colour 2022 forecast. The themes explored throughout this collateral revolve around the chemical modifications of mass-produced goods (such as hygiene products and food) on a global scale; begging the question ‘Is anything truly organic?’
Through macro trends, such as globalisation and the lack of environmental sustainability, the vast majority of food and hygiene products have faced some variant of toxic contamination in order to provide for society’s mass consumption of goods. This collateral will be a form of commentary on such topics, expressed through abstract photography of such goods and interior spaces.
Following the influence of the exhibition ‘The Way We Eat’, Equilibrium will explore the evolution of the food industry and question how finite mass-produced goods truly are.
This will be displayed explicitly through an abstract interior and food styling form. The narrative will follow the notion of scientific self-care. Throughout the series of images within the editorial, the experimentation with sustainable self-care will be exhibited.
Overall, this begs the question: can the only pure form of organic nature be found in extraterrestrial forms?
